August 1-7

Reading: Colossians 1:15-20; Revelation 1:12-18; John 4:21-24

Priority Statement: Worship – Jesus paid it all, so we are committed to a lifestyle of worship

Prayer Focus: Worshiping Jesus

• Worship Jesus as the creator of all things
• Worship Jesus as the head of the church
• Worship Jesus as the “living One” who died but is now alive forevermore
• Worship Jesus as “The Way,” “The Truth,” and “The Life”
• Pray for our church to experience greater freedom to worship Jesus in spirit and in truth

August 8-14

Reading: Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 17:16-34; Philippians 2:14-16; I Peter 2:13-17

Mission Statement: Our mission is to reach out to unchurched people with the love of the Gospel so they may experience salvation and wholeness in Jesus Christ

Priority Statement: Outreach – Jesus loves lost people, so we will love lost people

Prayer Focus: Engaging The Culture

• Thank Jesus for granting us the privilege of fulfilling his Messianic mission on the earth
• Pray for our church to receive wisdom and revelation as to how best share the Gospel in Sedro-Woolley
• Pray for our ministries and corporate gatherings to be relevant, engaging, and effective
• Pray for the success of our Fall outreach campaigns in the surrounding neighborhoods
• Pray that each member of our church would take personal responsibility for sharing the Gospel with their friends, family, and neighbors
• Pray for an increase in salvations and baptisms

August 15-21

Reading: Acts 4:32-35; John 17:22; Ephesians 4:4-6

Value Statement: Authentic Community – We believe that ministry takes place through relationships.  We want to be a Christ-centered community where people can be real and be accepted.  We want to model God’s grace.

Small Groups: Jesus made disciples through a small group, so we will make disciples through small groups (we will be a church of small groups not a church with small groups)

Prayer Focus: Creating Community

• Spend some time thanking the Lord for the church
• Express your gratitude for the parts of the church that are most meaningful to you
• Pray for the health and growth of our small group ministry
• Pray for our church to be “of one heart and soul” and to experience the intimacy Jesus had with his Father
• Pray for our church to become a: welcoming-community, generous-community, loving-community, forgiving-community, peaceful-community, joyful-community, patient-community, kind-community, merciful-community, gentle-community, faithful-community, gracious-community, missional-community, powerful-community, influential-community, growing-community, transformational-community, healing-community, teaching-community, worshiping-community

August 22-28

Reading: Luke 18:16; I Timothy 4:12

Priority Statement: Kids – Jesus made children a priority, so we will make children a priority

Prayer Focus: Children’s Ministry

• Thank the Lord for blessing our church with an amazing Children’s Ministry Director and staff
• Pray for the Children’s Ministry staff as they plan and prepare for AWANA
• Pray for our on-going Sunday School ministry and nursery program (bless those who volunteer in those departments)
• Pray that young children would come early to a saving relationship with Jesus
• Pray for our children to be firmly rooted and established in their faith
• Pray for the protection and safety of all the children who live in Sedro-Woolley
